10th Annual Grand Isle Offshore Rodeo

Grand Isle, Louisiana

July 9 – 11, 2026

The 10th Annual Wounded War Heroes Grand Isle Offshore Rodeo brought together 60 veterans, 24 volunteer boat owners, dedicated sponsors, and community partners for a weekend centered on outdoor therapy, gratitude, and meaningful connection. The event was held in Grand Isle, Louisiana, from Thursday, July 9th to the evening of Saturday, July 11th. The event demonstrated the strength of a community committed to honoring veterans through time on the water, shared meals, and lasting camaraderie.

The weekend opened Thursday evening with a welcome meal of jambalaya provided by Infinity creating an immediate opportunity for veterans, fishing partners, and captains to connect. Sponsors were recognized for the role they played in making the event possible.

Friday focused on offshore competition across eight categories, including cobia, mahi-mahi, grouper, mangrove snapper, red snapper, tuna, wahoo and miscellaneous fish. That evening, veterans and guests gathered for boiled shrimp prepared by Pintail Fabrication, followed by recognition of more sponsors. Each veteran also participated in a drawing to select a door prize or trip valued at more than $300, adding another meaningful expression of appreciation to the weekend.

Saturday continued with another strong day of fishing, with many teams targeting red snapper before the final weigh-in. The evening concluded with a dinner from SLC Development consisting of crawfish stew and fried catfish. The fishing awards, and the annual auction, which generated strong participation through donated items and enthusiastic bidding rounded out the evening.

Volunteers from the Baton Rouge Police Department cleaned and prepared the fish caught throughout the weekend, allowing each veteran to leave with an ice chest filled with their catch.

Beyond the meals, awards, prizes, and fishing, the rodeo’s deeper purpose was to provide outdoor therapy along with an abundance of camaraderie to assist our veterans in making connections with fellow veterans. For many of supporters it’s a chance to express their gratitude for the service and sacrifice our veterans made for our freedom.

Special thanks go to our major sponsors—SLC Development, Tres Hombres Ranch, Broussard Mechanical, Combat Veterans to Careers, and Impact Acadiana—whose continued generosity helps sustain this mission. Most importantly, we thank our veterans for their service, their sacrifice, and their presence throughout a weekend designed to honor them with relaxation, respect, and lasting memories.
